Oregon Football: Learn How To Get Student Section Tickets to Fiesta Bowl

For University of Oregon students, there are still a number of tickets left reserved to attend the Fiesta Bowl.

IF you have been thinking about getting yours, there is still time! The number of tickets available per students has increased to FOUR, so if you have friends or friends who want to attend as well, you have the option to purchase additional tickets for them. If you have already purchased two tickets but would like to purchase two more, all you have to do is follow this link again to purchase the additional tickets.

Remember, the site to purchase tickets is independent of GoDucks.com for the Bowl Game.

When booking your package, you have the option of indicating your preference of who to sit with at the game. Student Affairs will do their best to accommodate these requests, but cannot guarantee them. If you would like your ticket to be seated next to another student or group of students, please enter their names in the space provided upon review and payment of your package in the box that says: “If you are traveling with another group, please enter their party’s name here”.

Oregon Ducks Football: Snoop Dogg Interviewed on Oregon Ducks, De’Anthony Thomas

Check out this fantastic interview with Snoop Dogg on De’Anthony Thomas.

Snoop was a coach of Thomas while De’Anthony was in high school in Snoop’s football league. De’Anthony played under Snoop for the Crenshaw Bears, and many feel as if Snoop was one of the main pioneers in discovering De’Anthony’s raw and unmatched football talent.

“I crowned him the Black Mamba because I never seen nobody move in grass that fast other than a black snake, so to me that’s what he was and that’s what he always will be,” said Snoop Dogg on De’Anthony Black Mamba Thomas.

University of Oregon: Help Athletic Department Sell Out Autzen Stadium for Arkansas State

With Arkansas St. only two days away, there ARE still student seats available for the Arkansas St. Game at Autzen Stadium.

“A few hundred student tickets for the Arkansas State game will be available during student ticket re-distribution tomorrow at 5pm,” the Athletic Department said in one e-mail to the students on the the morning of August 30th. “Once the inventory of student tickets is exhausted, the athletic department will provide a limited number of reserved tickets, at no cost, to remaining students through their online account. These tickets will be distributed in advance online directly following a sellout of the student section.  These reserved tickets will allow admittance into Autzen, but not into the student section.”

“Additionally, the Oregon Athletic Department has expanded the student sections for the Arkansas State game. UO Students that claim a student ticket may sit in the following sections; 4, 5 (rows 34-53), 6, and 7.”

Why has it been so hard to sell these tickets, to the point that the school is using Groupon options for selling tickets?

“A night game on a holiday weekend with high ticket prices and a down economy and perceived bad opponent is just a hard combination” writes Addicted to Quack on Twitter, raising the question as to why these tickets are still available.

Not to mention the fact the the freshman class did not claim all of their free tickets for this game.

While the fact that this game is sold out is indeed unfortunate, there is a more pressing need for a sell out than many realize. While the ASUO tries to negotiate seat expansion for Autzen Stadium, it would help the cause to show that students are willing to take any tickets given to them. Leaving student seats available could diminish the chances of this happening.

This has caused many fans to discuss the need to help get the word out there on the game.

“Should I go to uofo game this weekend ? Retweet if yes #goducks”, asked LaMichael James, hoping to raise awareness for the dire need to sell out the stadium for the Arkansas St. game.

Help the Athletic Department sell out Autzen Stadium.

Oregon Ducks Football: New Ducks Helmet, Uniform Leak From Ducks Territory

The Oregon Ducks football team is known for having lavish jerseys, but their new helmet just changed the game.

While the official jersey reveal doesn’t come out until August 22nd, DuckTerritory leaked a set of helmets and jerseys Friday morning. The helmet takes a “liquid metal” form reminiscent of the reflective Rose Bowl helmets and the kelly green jerseys are reminiscent of the jerseys that Oregon wore against Cal last season.

The jerseys can be seen below:

Overall, the combination seems as beautiful as the Oregon Ducks jerseys can be and are sure to look great under the lights of Autzen Stadium. There will be more to come with (likely) better pictures and information on August 22nd.

What do you think of the jerseys?

Oregon Ducks Football: Fox Sports Hires Joey Harrington As College Sports Analyst

According to USA Today, Oregon QB and former Pit Crew President Joey Harrington will join Erin Andrews on the pre-game college football show for Fox Sports.

Harrington will join Eddie George as the two co-hosts to take on the new show that Erin Andrews will be the anchor of on FoxSports. The show will air on 7:30 PM EST on Saturday night before the prime time game is aired, and will begin airing once Fox adds the afternoon games to their schedule.

Andrews says that the show will offer a “young, fresh, hip take” to college sports and will run in response to the many games that will have already been completed by the time that they begin their broadcast.

While Harrington has been featured on the Oregon Sports Network, he has never had studio experience in the national sports market. While at Oregon, Harrington earned a degree in Business Administration, won the Fiesta Bowl, was featured on the cover of the 2003 EA Sports NCAA Football, and was a finalist for the 2001 Heisman Trophy Award. Before becoming the No. 3 overall pick in the 2002 NFL Draft, Harrington served as the first president of the University of Oregon Ducks Pit Crew. (He also flashes his acting on-camera abilities with a brilliant cameo in the “I Love My Ducks” music video).

The show will premier on September 1st. The Pit Crew sends our warmest congratulations to Harrington, and wish him nothing but the best on the show!

We’ll be sure to be tuned in! How do you think Harrington will fare on television?

Oregon Ducks Football: Kenjon Barner Named To Watch List of Doak Walker Award

Congratulations to Kenjon Barner, who the National College Football Award’s Association has added to the watch list for the Doak Walker Award.

The award is given to the year’s most elite running back. Barner has previously been named as a candidate on the watch list for the Maxwell Award, awarded to the best player in college football.

Barner joins a hefty list of teammates already nominated to prestigious watch lists, including John Boyett (Bednarik Award, Bronko Nagurski Trophy, Jim Thorpe Award), Dion Jordan (Bednarik Award, Rotary Lombardi Award, Bronko Nagurski Trophy), Jackson Rice (Ray Guy Award), Michael Clay (Rotary Lombardi Award), Carson York (Rotary Lombardi Award, Outland Trophy), De’Anthony Thomas (Maxwell Award) and Hroniss Grasu (Rimington Trophy).

Past winners of the Doak Walker Award include Eddie George, LaDanian Tomlinson, Cedric Benson, Reggie Bush, Darren McFadden and and Trent Richardson.

If awarded, Barner would join former teammate LaMichael James as the second Oregon player to ever receive this prestigious honor. Another win for the University of Oregon would solidify the program as one of the most impressive places for a running back to play in college football.
