Oregon Football: Ducks Defeat Oregon St. 48-24 in Civil War, Wait on Evening Games

OSU MAY FIGHT ‘TILL THE END, BUT WE…WILL…WIN!

After an impressive victory over inner-state rival Oregon State, the Ducks came out on top. Oregon scored 28-consecutive points in the second half to help carry the team to victory behind Kenjon Barner’s 198 yds and 2 TD’s, including his 21st score of the year, tying LaMichael James for the Oregon single season record. Running back De’Anthony Thomas, who replaced Barner after an injury, had 122 yards and 3 TD’s.

Oregon has now won 15 straight road games, and five consecutive Civil War matches.

Now, Oregon fans must wait to see the results of UCLA-Stanford and USC-Notre Dame before they know the fate of the remainder of their season for bowl games.

If UCLA wins, Oregon can go to the Pac-12 title on Friday in Eugene against the Bruins. If UCLA wins and USC wins, Oregon can go to the BCS National Title with a victory over UCLA in the Pac-12 title.

As Chip Kelly said, “We’ll be cheering like hell for UCLA.”

Regardless, Oregon has likely at least earned a bid to the BCS Fiesta Bowl against a probable Kansas State.

Oregon Volleyball: No. 2 Oregon vs. No. 1 Stanford at Matthew Knight Arena

Oregon Ducks fans: the No. 2 ranked Oregon Ducks Women’s Volleyball team will be playing the top-ranked team in the country, No. 1 Stanford Cardinal on November 4th.

This game will be on the Pac-12 Network and will be free for students with a student ID. You will also receive free popcorn and a chance to win Fan of the Game (TBD prizes). It’s not every day you get to see the top two teams in any sport play against each other for free!

Come on down to Matthew Knight Arena on Sunday to show your support of the Oregon Ducks! O

regon Volleyball (20-1, 11-1) features a very talented team this year, but they will have their biggest match of the season this Sunday when they play a team yet-to-lose in conference with Stanford (20-2, 12-0) to begin the month on November.

A victory for the Oregon Ducks would be the third time in Oregon history that the volleyball team beat the top ranked team in the country. The previous two times occurred last year (UCLA, Penn St.). In our last match against Stanford, the Oregon Ducks won 3-2. Our only other loss of the season came against Stanford.

Come suport the Oregon Ducks this weekend! For more information, click this photograph or this link.

Oregon Ducks Basketball: Nike Plans NCAA Tournament for Knight’s Birthday

Having a relationship with Phil Knight certainly doesn’t hurt Oregon Ducks basketball, who have been included in a very exciting college basketball tournament.

The two tournaments will be held in Portland, Oregon in honor of Phil Knight’s 80th birthday. Each tournament will have eight teams, and the tournament will last for four days in November 2017.

“All of these great basketball programs have been supported by Phil Knight and Nike,” said Michigan State Athletic Director Mark Hollis. “His support of the programs have created scholarships and resources for these departments to excel.”

Other teams on the list: Kentucky, Florida, Michigan St., Ohio St., Duke, North Carolina, Connecticut, Georgetown, Texas, Oklahoma, Stanford, Xavier, Butler, Gonzaga and Portland.

This is not the final list considering some teams may incidentally change shoe sponsorship in the coming five years.

The article goes on to say that the format of the games will be similar to the Old Spice Classic or the Puerto Rico Classic, and that ESPN has expressed interest in televising the event. Other ideas include a professor from each school speaking on an educational platform as well as some tie-in to Jimmy V’s cancer research foundation.

We think it’s an honor that the Oregon Ducks were included in this! What do you guys think of the event?
